Media attachment controls

Each section of the report has its own media attachment controls.  What controls are available automatically change based on what hardware is available on your PC. The media attachment controls are displayed at the top of each report object section titled 'Attach' with a series of buttons to the right.

Each media attachment control is different and may vary considerably depending on the hardware attached to your computer.  The photograph and video controls are shared by all hardware on your computer that is capable of photographs or videos.  You can select your video source and resolution when using these controls.

Media thumbnails and playback

When you attach media a thumbnail of the media is created automatically and attached to the report.  Any time you are viewing or editing the report you can click the thumbnail to view the original media.

Exported PDF documents support playback of the media from the PDF document including video clips.  Other supported formats for export including HTML and Word documents have varying support for playback depending on the type of media.

Understanding multiple attachment controls

Multiple media attachment controls allows you to control what object on the report the media is attached to improving the add existing feature.  If the media is only relevant to the current report it should be attached to the report details section.  If the media is relevant in other reports that share the report object you should attach the media to that object.  Consider the following scenario:

Bill Smith is a regular player at your casino.  As a preferred player Bill Smith is offered a $2000.00 marker while playing his regular game of craps.  Surveillance creates a marker issuance report and places Bill Smith on the report.  The surveillance agent attaches a picture of Bill Smith and a picture of the chip distribution for the marker. Game play continues uneventful and eventually Bill Smith repays the marker and leaves the property.

Step 1: Write a marker issuance report and add Bill Smith to it including photographs.

In this case the photograph of Bill Smith should be attached to the person object and the picture of the chip distribution should be on the report details section.  Consider the following scenario:

Bill Smith returns to the casino a week later and while playing requests a marker which is granted.  Surveillance creates another marker issuance report and places Bill Smith on the report.  However, since Bill Smith has already been entered into the system the surveillance agent should not duplicate Bill Smith's data.  The surveillance agent should use the add existing option to add the existing Bill Smith person to this report.  The surveillance agent attaches a photograph of the chip distribution to the report details section.

Step 2: Write another marker issuance report but do not duplicate Bill Smith.

Step 3: Click 'Existing'.

Step 4: Search for 'Bill Smith'.

Step 5: Click 'Bill Smith' to add him to the report.

Because Bill Smiths photograph was attached to his person object in the first report when the agent added the existing Bill Smith to his second report the photograph automatically is placed onto the new report.  The photograph of the first chip distribution did not come to the new report because it was not on the Bill Smith person object.
